Production in Denmark

PE-Redskaber was founded in 1992 and since then has been manufacturing in Denmark. All our employees could confirm, that since the beginning, a lot of things has changed: we became more digital, use more advanced tools and we constantly try to come up with new, better ideas how to be more sustainable, eco-friendly. PE-Redskaber contributes to one of the Denmark’s goals to march the Danish business production competencies much better in relation to global demand and thus create a breeding ground for massive growth and employment growth in Danish industry.

The international climate agenda and global competition pose Danish industrial companies with increased demands for both sustainable and efficient production, where raw material and energy consumption is reduced as much as possible. Sustainable production is not only a management issue, but also depends to a large extent on the employees possessing ‘green competencies’, which can support sustainable change and innovation in the companies.

Our Danish manufacturing industry PE-Redskaber is rapidly adopting and investing in the latest digitized, highly automated production technology. If you add the fact that the World Bank continuously ranks Denmark as the best country for business, that makes us a top location for production center. It needs to be mentioned, that Denmark is highly evaluated not only because of improved technology development, but also because of green, renewable energy, well-developed infrastructure, Danish labor market and talented, motivated employees with future-oriented mindset, and we, talking from experience, can surely confirm that this is true. Let’s get into it a little bit further to see how PE-Redskaber contributes to those objectives about Danish manufacturing culture.

"Flow" in production

A frequently mentioned concept in the companies' organization of production is flow, which means to organize the production so that process time and waste time are reduced as much as possible. Production units, machines and staff teams are grouped according to the production process so that there are fewer production stops, less transport time and accumulation of stocks of intermediate products. PE-Redskaber not only has all production units in one place, which works closely together, but the production is geographically close with development, which is a huge advantage considering the transport costs that are currently too upward in line with rising freight prices, as well as pollution caused by frequent transportation. Also, we created PE Remote Care and we have a solution for changing only certain parts of equipment to reduce transportation time, costs, and other challenges in order to become more sustainable.

PE RemoteCare

With the tested and innovative PE Remote Care service and maintenance system, PE-Redskaber makes it easy for schools, clubs or gym managements, teachers/instructors, guardians, etc. to collect data and get an overview of the number of equipment pieces and their location, value, age, and service maintenance. Furthermore, they can react quickly when damage is reported and easily access information such as user manuals, instructions, and spare parts lists. So, you can, in clear conscience, devote your energy to your gymnasts and gymnastics and let the system help you with those tasks instead. You decide whether you want help from PE-Redskaber or find a solution yourself. Best part of it – we are ready to make spare parts for your equipment even if you bought it from different brands. This system save time, reduce travel costs, is innovative, easy to use and effective.

Infrastructure

An efficient, well-developed infrastructure, making Denmark your gateway to Scandinavia and link to Northern Europe. According to research centre 90% of industry employment is located outside the Copenhagen area. It is convenient that PE-Redskaber is located exactly there – in the little town Fole. PE-Redskaber is located in area in Syddanmark called Triangle, where most of the manufactures are located. This is strategic place to build a manufacture because it is close to all the main roads, which leads to other countries and makes it an excellent transport hub for both Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic Sea region.

Employees

Denmark is a free-market capitalist economy with a strong social welfare safety net for its citizens. Maintenance and development of Danish production workplaces through increased focus on new forms of production, technology, and employee involvement. Danish people are efficient, talented, and motivated employees that ensure high productivity and cost efficiency, as documented by the IMD World Talent Report 2019. Furthermore, the Danes are future-oriented mindset – according to the European Commission, Denmark is the most digitalized economy and society in the EU. Which made easier for PE-Redskaber to became digital and use websites, social media, sell online etc.

Zero waste

There is a good correlation between Danish business strengths and the international demand for "welfare products and services". Of course, to be zero waste company is nearly impossible for a gymnastics equipment manufacturer, but we are doing our best by reducing waste of material to the minimum. For example, we need to use a lot of material for a gymnastic mat, and there is a lot of cutting and fitting, therefore, all leftovers of material we send to our partner company which makes the beautiful aprons from it.

Moreover, we make spare parts and, for example, changeable covers. It not only reduces the cost for a customer, but also helps us waste less. Why to change the whole product, if you can change only broken part and both safe money and reduce consumerism?

Technology

It is advantageous to produce products in a country with high technological development because there is always access to newest technologies now and in the future in order to be up to date and increase efficiency as much as possible. There are great advantages to production in Denmark when it includes, for example, the use of advanced production equipment, products with a high knowledge content and unique production in smaller series with a need for rapid adaptation, for example, 3D printers which PE-Redskaber use to produce smaller and cheaper products or products’ parts which also encourage to reduce wastefulness and change only broken part. Even so we don’t have the product which client needs, our employees always can design it and use a 3D printer to print it. This is an efficient method to satisfy the customers’ needs as well as reduce costs and time spent.

Green energy

Another reason why PE-Redskaber is happy to be a manufacture company specifically in Demark is that this country is one of the best to do business in because of low-risk environment with no energy downtime or worker conflict to interrupt the production. It is really convenient for us and our workers to have a fast internet, no electricity down-time and also, know, that we use sustainable energy while working. Today, 67% of electricity in Denmark is supplied by wind and solar power. By 2030, the goal set by the Danish parliament, is that the electricity system in Denmark will be completely independent of fossil fuels. PE-Redskaber supports the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and we are currently working on Goal 9, which about you can read here. PE-Redskaber chose this country and continue to choose it every day for the business, because we care about the environment and want to use green energy to be at a part of reducing global warming and pollution process.
